A massive landslide in Greenland triggered a 650-foot high mega-tsunami, which led to a mysterious seismic vibration lasting nine days and was detected globally. Jaldapara National Park, located in West Bengal, has reported the unfortunate deaths of five rhino cubs in 2023. These deaths are suspected to be caused by a tapeworm infestation, as confirmed by forest officials. The Centre for Narmada River Basin Management (cNARMADA) was established by IIT Gandhinagar in collaboration with IIT Indore, with support from the Ministry of Jal Shakti. The centre focuses on assessing and managing the Narmada River’s ecosystem through a comprehensive Condition Assessment and Management Plan. The study aims to address the impacts of industrial activities, urbanization, deforestation, and infrastructure developments on the river basin, ensuring sustainable management of this vital water resource.
