INS Malvan, the second Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW-SWC), is scheduled to be commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 22, 2026. Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi, the vessel is a significant achievement under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, with more than 80% indigenous content. Designed for anti-submarine warfare, coastal surveillance, and maritime security, INS Malvan will strengthen India's naval capabilities in shallow coastal waters. The induction of this advanced warship reflects India's continued focus on enhancing indigenous defence manufacturing and securing its extensive maritime boundaries.
