Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will induct INS Tushil, a Talwar-class guided-missile frigate, into the Indian Navy during his visit to Russia on December 9. Built under Project 11356, this frigate significantly enhances the Navy's capability to counter air, surface, and submarine threats. It is also designed to host anti-submarine helicopters. INS Tushil is part of a $1.5 billion deal between India and Russia, which includes the supply of two frigates from Russia and two to be built domestically with Russian technical support.

The Indian Coast Guard is conducting SAREX-24 in Kochi from November 27-30, 2024. This event aims to enhance maritime Search and Rescue (SAR) capabilities through regional cooperation and advanced technology, including drones and satellite distress beacons. INSV Tarini is the vessel used in the Navika Sagar Parikrama-II expedition. This initiative aims to promote gender equality, maritime cooperation, and India’s maritime heritage.
