National Energy Conservation Day is observed annually in India on December 14 to promote awareness about the importance of energy efficiency and sustainable energy use. The Department of Posts partnered with BSE, Asia’s oldest stock exchange, to distribute mutual funds through India Post’s extensive network. Postal employees will be trained and certified as mutual fund distributors, assisting citizens with transactions and investor guidance. Milan Nedeljković has been appointed as the new CEO of BMW, taking over from long-serving chief Oliver Zipse. The United States has taken a major step in integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare regulation through its Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA qualified AIM-NASH, the first AI-powered tool designed to assist in assessing severe fatty liver disease during drug trials. This qualification enables faster, more consistent evaluation of liver biopsy data, helping reduce delays, variability, and costs in clinical research. By supporting the development of treatments for metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), the decision highlights the growing role of AI in modern drug development and reflects strong regulatory confidence in AI-assisted diagnostics.

India’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) retail inflation increased slightly to 0.71% in November 2025, up from 0.25% in October. The rise was primarily due to easing food deflation, which moderated from -5.02% to -3.91%. While rural inflation turned positive at 0.10% and urban inflation increased to 1.4%, the overall CPI inflation reflects a modest uptick driven by seasonal increases in vegetables, pulses, fruits, eggs, and meat & fish. The moderation of the base effect contributed to this rise, signaling a gradual recovery in price levels after a period of very low inflation.

Amazon has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to strengthen collaboration in learning, research, and innovation within the logistics and warehousing sectors. India’s first indigenous hydrogen fuel cell passenger vessel began commercial operations in Varanasi, specifically at Namo Ghat. The 24-meter catamaran, built by Cochin Shipyard Ltd. and owned by the Inland Waterways Authority of India, uses a Low Temperature Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) fuel cell system, producing zero emissions and offering a sustainable transport solution along the Ganga. The United Nations has officially designated December 14 as the International Day Against Colonialism in All Its Forms and Manifestations through Resolution A/RES/80/106. First observed in 2025, the day reinforces the global commitment to ending colonialism and promoting the principles of sovereignty, self-determination, and human dignity. The observance builds upon the 1960 Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples and highlights that colonialism, in political, economic, or cultural forms, continues to hinder development and equality. The day also supports the UN’s broader decolonization agenda under the Fourth International Decade for the Eradication of Colonialism (2021–2030).
