How can we take fy is 240mpa?
Here, They don't mention thickness. Anyone explain this.

Avg shear stress = ( 0.4*230 +0.4*240 +0.4*250)/3.
= 945kg/cm2.
= 945kg/cm2.

.4fy average shear stress and .44fy for shear stress (.4x250=100N/mm^2).
100x9.81=981kg/mm^2.
100x9.81=981kg/mm^2.

@Amu Bokato
If the thickness of member is less than 20 mm then Fy is 250 Mpa.
For 20-40 mm, Fy is taken as 240 Mpa.
For t > 40mm, fy is 230 Mpa.

960 is the corect answer.
.4 * 240=96 mpa=96 * 10 = 960kg/cm2.
.4 * 240=96 mpa=96 * 10 = 960kg/cm2.

Because they take the beam whose thickness is more than 20mm and less than 40mm.

Why we can't consider 250 mpa as fy?
For matching answer is right.
