On wet surfaces, the car slips when it's just about to move and skids as well when sudden brakes are applied and also may overturn after skidding at a higher speed if the tyre is suddenly encountered by a dry surface or a stone.

So, The correct answer should be D.

Skidding happens on dry surfaces when brakes are applied while slipping occurs on wet surfaces.
