No grade compensation is required is gradient is flatter than 4%.

In grade compensation also how the value 75 came in 75/300?

Why 75/100 values was taken?

Maximum value of grade compensation 75/R.

As per IRC grade compensation is provided only if ruling gradient is more than 4%.

Grade compensation = 30+r/r = 30+300/300 = 330/300 = 1.1,

Ruling gradient = 3%,

Maximum limit of grade compensation = 75/300 = 0.25,

So compensated gradient = 3-0.25 = 2.75.

Answer is 3% because for less than 4% there is no grade compensation.
