The maximum grade compensation =75/R.
Given R=300m.
Now grade compensation is = 75/300.
which is =2.5.

So, option D is correct.

I think there is no grade compensation.

As per IRC grade compensation is not necessary for gradient flatter than 4%.

Hence option E is the right answer.

Grade compensation is not provided below 4% so, the answer is E.

As per IRC,
If R> 45 use75/r , otherwise 30+r/r.

Option E is correct because given gradient is 3% while grade compensation is provided if gradient is greater than 4%.

Please, Justify the necessity of grade compensation in a hilly area.

Although Grade compensation = 30 + R / R = 1.1 and maximum limit of grade compensation = 75/ R = 0.25 but less than 1.1 so,

Compensiated grade = 3% - 0.25% = 2.75% which is less than 4%.

Actual Percent - (75/R) = 3 - (75/300) = 3 - 0.25 = 2.75.
