Only C is the right answer because when we add water with cement chemical reaction will start between water and cement. This process is known as the heat of hydration. And this is also known as an exothermic reaction. In this reaction, heat is liberated so this reaction name is the heat of hydration.

The chemical reaction is supposed to occur between cement and water. Both aggregates (fine and course) should be chemically inert if they react will make concrete unsound and weak.
Hence, the given answer is correct.

The reaction b\w cement and water is called hydration and heat produce during hydration is called heat of hydration thats why concrete gains strength due to hydration of cement.

Aggregate are inert material. They don't take part in chemical reaction.

In concrete aggregate and sand are also called non-reactivate materials so option C is the only correct answer.
