It is the maximum limit or minimum limit?

Ashish Devikar said: (Dec 27, 2014)
Is it standard limit?

If we want to transport the concrete for 100 mt then how can we do it?

Jagannath Khan said: (Apr 24, 2015)
I think this answer is not appropriate. Because I personally done concreting by pump more then 400 metre from pouring location. So this is just a thumb rule type of concept which is made that before 10-20 years may be.

Yes, wrong question we have done concrete in pump wherever it is inaccessible.

Question is wrong there is no such standard limit even pumps pumping concrete upto 1 km are available.

You are all people wrong because the pump transfer 1 km and more of it.

50 m only is the right answer. But it is not in the given option.

Abhishek Paliwal said: (Sep 21, 2016)
Two types of concrete pumps are used:

Direct-acting, horizontal piston type with semi-rotary valves set to permit always the passage of the largest aggregate particles. This type of pump can cover a horizontal distance of 1000 m and a vertical distance of 120 m. The concrete is fed in by gravity and is also partially sucked in during the suction stroke. The valves open and close with definite pauses so that concrete moves in a series of impulses, but the pipe always remains full. These pumps are capable of pumping 130 m3 of concrete per hour with 8-inch pipes.

I totally agree with your statement @Abhishek Paliwal.

It will be maximum vertical distance of 50m.

The latest pump concreting in horizontal distance upto 2000 meter & vertical 400 meter by Puzmesister pump machine. It depends upon machine "Bar power".

300 m is the right answer.

Rushikesh Pawar said: (Oct 29, 2017)
HOW can it be possible? It should be 250 mm.

Umakant Arya said: (Feb 19, 2018)
The effective pumping distance:

300-1000ft for horizontal.
100-300ft for vertically.
So 400m is right option.

What should be the water/cement ratio in concrete transportation by pumps?

Rahul Kumar said: (Nov 12, 2018)
0.5 - 0.65 w/c ratio should be when the concrete transported by pumps.

Actually I have done practically concrete by pumps and placing booms. Even till 100m we have to connect steel pipes. The standard length of boom for pumps is 56m. For further you have to connect pipes. The more pipes. The more chances of blast of pipes. Extra pipe length is 3m we connect by clamps. 400m is not possible. I don't how they gave this answer.

400m for real? I have wroked with a pump which can pour upto 40m only.
