Pick up the incorrect statemnt from the following. For performing compressive strength test of cement
cement and standard sand mortar are used in the ratio of 1 : 3
water is added at the rate of + 3.0 percentage of water where P is the percentage of water for standard consistency
A cube mould of 10 cm x 10 cm x 10 cm is used
The perpared moulds are kept in a atmosphere of 90% relative humidity
The temperature of water in the submerged tank for curing moulds, should be 27° ± 2°C.

For compressive strength of cement:

Cement sand mortar ratio 1:3.
Cube size 70.6cm.
Relative humidity 90%.
Temp 27*2.

Water is added at the rate of + 3.0 percentage of water where P is the percentage of water for standard consistency.

Ref: R.S. KHURMI.

As per RS Khurmi. Conventional and Objectives type.

1:3 is correct to determine the compressive strength of the cube and it is kept in an atmosphere of at least 90% relative humidity for 24 hrs.

We use M15 grade or greater concrete .(ie we can't use 1:3 ratio .its use for M10)
And we can use 15*15*15 /10*10*10 cube.

So, option A Is incorrect.

D is in correct, but yes concrete is tested in 10*10*10 mould but compressive strength of 10*10*10 is more than stand design concrete.

Here, the question is related to cement not a cement concrete.

So, Ratio = 1:6
size = 70.6mm
temp = 27±2.

Answer C and D, but mould is 76 * 76 *76 mm and Humidity 90% this value as per IS code 456-2000.

Thank you.

Absolutely answer is C, The mould is of 7.06*7.06*7.06 (cm) with area of face of the cube being 50 cm^2.

Option D and C were wrong. Rest of the think like proportion, temperature and percentage are correct.

At least 90% relative humidity for 24 hours and cube size 7.06cm x7.06cm. Options C and D are wrong.

This test is done for concrete not for cement. So, The given answer A is the right one.
