According to me, the product of going (in cm) and the rise (in cm) should be equal to 400.

Staircase are designed according to use as for residential or commercial and different dimensions are for them. Generally for residential buildings the product of rise and going is kept 450.

Minimum going ( tread ) = 28 cm.
Minimum rise = 15 cm.
Product = 28 * 15.
= 420.

@Hardik.

I didn't get your point,

Why you are multiplying 30 by 9?
Can you explain please?

Hardik said:   5 years ago
Tread = rise -1.
So,30* 9 = 270 &
15* 10 =150.
Total =270+150 =420.

Normally,

Riser h=17 cm.
Tread (going) l=25 cm.
So. h*l = 17 * 25 = 425.

But standard sizes are,
7 to 9 inch for risers and.
9 to 11 inch for treads.

So B and C both right but the nearest value of 425 is 420 so B is correct answer for this question

In residential building, going is 25cm and riser is 16cm mean R * G = 25 * 16 = 400cm.

In residential building, going is 250 and riser is 160 mean G * R = 250 * 160 = 400.

450, 420 also right.

Here it is 14*30=420 because of min Riser 14 cm.
