SHORING - It is the construction of a temporary structure to support a temporarily unshaped structure. It is lateral support to the wall.

Underpinning - the process of placing a new foundation under an existing one or to strengthen an existing foundation is called underpinning of foundation.

Scaffolding is a temporary structure to support the original structure as well as workmen used it as a platform to carry on the construction works. It is in the form of a timber or steel framework.
