A can finish a work in 18 days and B can do the same work in 15 days. B worked for 10 days and left the job. In how many days, A alone can finish the remaining work?

Answer: Option
Explanation:

B's 10 day's work = ( 1 x 10 ) = 2 .
15 3

Remaining work = ( 1 - 2 ) = 1 .
3 3

Now, 1 work is done by A in 1 day.
18

Therefore 1 work is done by A in ( 18 x 1 ) = 6 days.

A+ B = 30,
LCM = 30,
So Efficiency = 1.

That means A and B can do 1/2 work each on 1 day.
Therefore , for completing 30 units A will take 60 days.

A = 18 Day's.
B = 15 Day's.
The LCM is 90.
Easy and short trick.
Before are indicate (+) sing.
After are indicate (-) sing.
So according to question B left work after 10 day's.
90-10(6)/5 ans = 6.

@All.

Here is the Easier method:

Efficiency = A : 18 = 5 > 90.
B : 15 = 6 > 90.

Total work = 90:
B work for 10 days so = 6× 10 = 60,
90 - 60 = 30,
A's per day efficiency = 5 so , 30 ,÷ 5 = 6,
So 6 days is the answer.

Let us suppose Total work to be W = 90 units.
(LCM of 15 &18)
According to that,
A's rate of doing work =(90/18)=5 units per day
B's rate of doing work =(90/15)=6 units per day
B worked for 10 days so work done per 10 days would be = 6*10=60 units
Remaining work= 90-60= 30 units
A completes 5 units per day so it will take 6 days to complete the remaining work.

According to questions, A and B both will be working for 10 days right?
Then if we add (1/18 + 1/15) = -ve answer is coming in this way question may be wrong.

Easy method:

A = 18.
B = 15.

Now total work = LCM of A & B which is 90,
A's per day work=90/18 = 5
B's per day work=90/15 = 6.

Now B's work in 10 days = 10 * 6 = 60,
Remaining work=90-60 = 30,
Now the time taken by A to finish the remaining work = 30/5 = 6 days.

Remaining work = (1 - (2/3) ) = 1/3;.

A can finish 1 work in-------> 18 days.
A can finish 1/3 work in--------> x days.
So, x = 18 * (1/3) ;.

X = 6 days.

TAKE LCM OF 18 and 15.

LCM = 90
TOTAL WORK=90 UNITS,
A' s one day work=90/18 = 5 units,
B's one day work=90/15 = 6 units,
B's 10 days work=10 days * 6 units = 60 units.
now remaining work= total units-work done by B in 10 days.
i.e, = 90-60= 30 unit of work remaining which is done by A.
A's one-day work is 5 units.
So he completes the remaining 30 units in 6 days(30/5=6 days).

B one day's work = 1/15
A one day's work = 1/18
B ten day's work = 10/15 = 2/3
Remaining work = 1-2/3 = 1/3
A 's 1/18th work = 1day
A's1/3rd work = 1/3 ÷ 1/18 = 1/3 * 18/1 = 6days.
