Stoppage time = difference of speed/maximum speed.
= 54-45/54 * 60min,
= 9/54 * 60min,
= 1/6 * 60min.
= 10min.

I can't understand why we have taken 54km/hr for calculation. Why not 45km/hr? Anyone, please clarify it.

Fast speed-slow speed/Fast Speed = 54-45/54 = 1/6.
To convert into minutes =1/6 * 60 = 10.

54km ------------- 60min
45km ------------- ?????.

45/54*60min = 50min.
60min - 50min = 10min.

@Mr.Shaju

54 - 45 = 9 km is absolutely correct because we are calculating relative results.

@Naren.

Because 54Kmph was the actual speed and 45Kmph was the speed after stoppage.
