2.
An aeroplane covers a certain distance at a speed of 240 kmph in 5 hours. To cover the same distance in 1
hours, it must travel at a speed of:

Answer: Option
Explanation:
Distance = (240 x 5) = 1200 km.
Speed = Distance/Time
Speed = 1200/(5/3) km/hr. [We can write 1 hours as 5/3 hours]

1 2/3 is a mixed fraction, it has to be converted into an improper fraction
The formula to convert mixed fraction to improper fraction is Quotient * divisor + remainder/divisor.
In the above mixed fraction quotient=1, remainder= 2, divisor=3.
Therefore 1 * 3 + 2/3 = 5/3.

Let's calculate the speed:
Distance = Speed × Time.
Distance = 240 kmph × 5 hours = 1200 km.
To cover the same distance (1200 km) in 1 2/3 hours (or 5/3 hours):
Speed = Distance ÷ Time = 1200 km ÷ (5/3) hours = 1200 km × (3/5) hours = 720 kmph.
So, the correct answer is: D. 720 kmph
The plane needs to fly at a speed of 720 kmph to cover the same distance in 1 2/3 hours.
Distance = Speed × Time.
Distance = 240 kmph × 5 hours = 1200 km.
To cover the same distance (1200 km) in 1 2/3 hours (or 5/3 hours):
Speed = Distance ÷ Time = 1200 km ÷ (5/3) hours = 1200 km × (3/5) hours = 720 kmph.
So, the correct answer is: D. 720 kmph
The plane needs to fly at a speed of 720 kmph to cover the same distance in 1 2/3 hours.

Given,
Speed = 240kmph.
T1 = 5 hours.
According to the formula,
Distance = speed * time.
= 240 * 5 = 1200km.
T2 = 5/3 hours.
Speed = distance/time.
= 1200*3/5.
= 720kmph.
Speed = 240kmph.
T1 = 5 hours.
According to the formula,
Distance = speed * time.
= 240 * 5 = 1200km.
T2 = 5/3 hours.
Speed = distance/time.
= 1200*3/5.
= 720kmph.

1(2/3)= 100 mins (1hr = 60, (2/3) = 60×2/3= 40 , 60+40=100 mins).
5hr = 300 mins.
So, 300/100 = 3 (to cover the distance).
5hr = 240.
Therefore, 240 × 3 = 720.
5hr = 300 mins.
So, 300/100 = 3 (to cover the distance).
5hr = 240.
Therefore, 240 × 3 = 720.

The given distance is =1200km.
speed =distance/time.
To cover the same is distance in 1^2/3 hours
which means we can write 1 power 2/3 as 1+2/3 therefore convert into fractions as,
1^2/3 = 1 + 2/3 = 3 * 1 + 2/3 which is 5/3 right so
according to the given problem we have to calculate the required speed.
Then speed =(1200 x 3/5)km/hr = 720 km/hr.
speed =distance/time.

Give:
S1 = 240kmph.
T1 = 5 hours.
T2 = 1 1/2 hours = 5/3 hours.
D1=D2.
To Find:
S2 = ?
Solution:
D = S x T.
D1 = D2.
So, S1 x T1 = S2 x T2.
240 x 5 = S2 x 5/3.
S2 = (240 x 5 x 3 )/5.
S1 = 240kmph.
T1 = 5 hours.
T2 = 1 1/2 hours = 5/3 hours.
D1=D2.
To Find:
S2 = ?
Solution:
D = S x T.
D1 = D2.
So, S1 x T1 = S2 x T2.
240 x 5 = S2 x 5/3.
S2 = (240 x 5 x 3 )/5.
