2.
An aeroplane covers a certain distance at a speed of 240 kmph in 5 hours. To cover the same distance in 1
hours, it must travel at a speed of:

Answer: Option
Explanation:
Distance = (240 x 5) = 1200 km.
Speed = Distance/Time
Speed = 1200/(5/3) km/hr. [We can write 1 hours as 5/3 hours]

We can calculate like below right?
Per hour 240 KM & for 5 hour, 1200KM.
1200/1.666 = 720.
Is that right?

1200/1.666 = 720.
Is that right?

1*2/3 is a mixed fraction, we are converting it into improper fraction as 5/3.
S=d/t=1200/(5/3)=1200*3/5=720.
S=d/t=1200/(5/3)=1200*3/5=720.

Distance is constant.
s1/S2=t2/t1.
240/S2=(5/3)/5.
S2=720kmph.
s1/S2=t2/t1.
240/S2=(5/3)/5.
S2=720kmph.

D=S*T.
=240*5,
=1200 km/hr.
1 2/3 hrs can be written as 5/3hrs.
Considering the formula:
D = S*T.
1200 = x*5/3(Keeping the unknown speed as x),
1200*3/5 = x,
720 = x,
= 720km/hr.
=240*5,
=1200 km/hr.
1 2/3 hrs can be written as 5/3hrs.
Considering the formula:
D = S*T.
1200 = x*5/3(Keeping the unknown speed as x),
1200*3/5 = x,
720 = x,
= 720km/hr.

Distance= S * T.
Given 240km/hr in 5hr.
So,1hr =240 km.
then 5hr ---> 5*240 = 1200 km.
Now to cover distance 1200km in 5/3hr.
So, you can apply speed formula and the answer will 720 km/hr.
