1.
A person crosses a 600 m long street in 5 minutes. What is his speed in km per hour?
3.6
7.2
8.4
10
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Speed = 600 m/sec.
5 x 60

Converting m/sec to km/hr (see important formulas section)

   = 2 x 18 km/hr
5

   = 7.2 km/hr.

We know that speed=(distance / time).
so speed=(600/300)=2m/s.
2m/s= 2(18/5)=7.2km/hr.

1km/hr=(1ooo/3600)m/s=(5/18)m/s
for converting m/s into km/hr 18/5 is required to use

When we convert km/hr to m/s it's 18/5 and when we convert m/s to km/he it's 5/18.

2*60(min)*60(hr)/1000.

Then we get the answer 36/10(or)18/5*2.

Answer=7.2km/hr.

What's that conversion formula come from the real real formula was 1000/(60*60)?

Atul said:   8 years ago
600/5=120/min,
1min=120m,
60min=60*120m=7200,
1000m=1km.
So, 7200m/1000m=7.2/hr.
