In a regular week, there are 5 working days and for each day, the working hours are 8. A man gets Rs. 2.40 per hour for regular work and Rs. 3.20 per hours for overtime. If he earns Rs. 432 in 4 weeks, then how many hours does he work for ?
160
175
180
195
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Suppose the man works overtime for x hours.

Now, working hours in 4 weeks = (5 x 8 x 4) = 160.

160 x 2.40 + x x 3.20 = 432

3.20x = 432 - 384 = 48

x = 15.

Hence, total hours of work = (160 + 15) = 175.

If the total hrs work 175, then 175 * 3.20 ( Per hour) = 512.
How it comes to 432?

The total money the person got.
I think the answer is of the total work is 135.
135 * 3.20 = 432.

Given,

Work 8 Hrs = 2.40/h.
OT 8+ Hrs = 3.20.

Now 432 for 4 Work.
1 Work = 5 Days
4 Work = 20 Days ( 20 Days for 8 hrs is 20 * 8 =160 hrs).

1 Hr = 2.40 (160 hrs is 160 * 2.4 = 384) Now we have 384 Rs and we need to calculate how much short are we from 432.Rs. So, we will subtract 432 - 384 = 48.Rs which is overtime
For overtime, we calculate 3.20 for 1 hr which is given so (48/3.20 = 15Hrs)
So 160 hrs for the normal working hours paid plus 15 hrs of overtime is 175 hrs.

So, A = 175.

Amount gathered in 4 weeks ( 5 working day each) = (2.4*8)*5*4 = Rs. 384.
Time did in normal shift = 384/2.4 = 160 hours.

Amount remaining = 432-384 = 48.

Overtime did = 48/3.2 = 15 hours.
Total Time = 160+15 = 175 hours.
