Answer: Option
Explanation:
Originally, let the number of seats for Mathematics, Physics and Biology be 5x, 7x and 8x respectively.
Number of increased seats are (140% of 5x), (150% of 7x) and (175% of 8x).

5 it is increased by 40%=5 * 40/100 = 2.
7 it is increased by50%=7 * 50/100 = 7/2.
8it is increased by 75%=8 * 75/100 = 6.
5+2=7/2+7 = 6 + 8.
7=21/2 = 14.
14=21 = 28.
2=3 = 4.
7 it is increased by50%=7 * 50/100 = 7/2.
8it is increased by 75%=8 * 75/100 = 6.
5+2=7/2+7 = 6 + 8.
7=21/2 = 14.
14=21 = 28.
2=3 = 4.

For make calculation easy take the values as 500 : 700 : 800,
40% of 500 =200,
50% of 700 =350,
75% of 800=600,
Then the increased ratio = 700 :1050:1400.
After simplification, the answer would be 2:3:4.
40% of 500 =200,
50% of 700 =350,
75% of 800=600,
Then the increased ratio = 700 :1050:1400.
After simplification, the answer would be 2:3:4.

Isn't that simple like if we add 40% + 50% + 70% = 165,
40/165 = 2.
50/165 = 3.
75/165 = 4.
40/165 = 2.
50/165 = 3.
75/165 = 4.
