1.
A train running at the speed of 60 km/hr crosses a pole in 9 seconds. What is the length of the train?
120 metres
180 metres
324 metres
150 metres
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Speed = 60 x 5 m/sec = 50 m/sec.
18 3

Length of the train = (Speed x Time).

Length of the train = 50 x 9 m = 150 m.

Speed = distance/time or velocity = distance/time or s = s/t.

Distance = speed*time.
= 60km/hr*9sec.
= 60(1km=1000m/1hr=3600sec)*9sec
(i.e. 1km = 1000m , 1hr = 60min, 1min = 60sec)

Sso 1hr = 60min*60sec.
= 60(1000m/3600sec)*9sec
= 60(10/36m/sec)*9sec,
= 60(0.277m/sec)*9sec,
= 60(2.493m),
= 149.58m = 150m answer.

Simplest way,

Our train took 9 secs at 60 kmph.
Convert the time taken into hours ->. 0025 hrs.
So, distance (required length) = Speed x Time = 60 x. 0025 =. 15 km = 150 m.

60*5/18 = 50/3.
50/3 *9,
Then 50*3.
Answer = 150.

Convert km to m - 60000.
Convert hr to sec - 3600.

Sso, 60000/3600 = 16.666(speed) * 9 (time) = 150.
