There is a formula for this,

HCF * LCM = first no * second no.

Their is a formula i.e,
a*b=HCF*LCM.

here they have given one number i.e275 so u can take a=275 or b=275.
Hence substitute in the above formula,
a*275=11*7700,
a=11*7700/275,
a=308.

Why we can't do like this 11a*11b=7700?

The numbers are 11x, 11y.

LCM of two numbers x * 11* y
Therefore x * 11 * y = 7700.
11x = 275,
ie., 275 * y = 7700,
y = 28,

The other number is 11*y => 11*28 => 308.

LCM means 275 * __ = 7700.

So 308 or 318.

HCF means it should divide by 11 so 308.
