1.
Father is aged three times more than his son Ronit. After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of Ronit's age. After further 8 years, how many times would he be of Ronit's age?
2 times
1 times
2
3 times
4
3 times
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let Ronit's present age be x years. Then, father's present age =(x + 3x) years = 4x years.

(4x + 8) = 5 (x + 8)
2

8x + 16 = 5x + 40

3x = 24

x = 8.

Hence, required ratio = (4x + 16) = 48 = 2.
(x + 16) 24

Let fathers age be f and son age be s
given
f= 3s+s = 4s.
f + 8 = 2 * (s+8) = 5/2 (s+8).

So 4s +8 =5/2 (s+8)we get s=8, also f= 4*8 =32.

Let x times.

Given,
(f+16) = x(s+16)substitute f and s value,
we get x=2.

Let Ronit's present age be x years. Then, father's present age =(x + 3x) years = 4x years.

2(4x + 8) = 5(x + 8).
8x + 16 = 5x + 40.
3x = 24.
x = 8.
Hence, required ratio = (4x + 16) = 48 = 2.
Then (x + 16)24.

As the in statement state that fathers age would be 2 and 1/2 of the ronits ages.

Ronits age is x,
his fathers age is x+3x=4x,
after 8 yaers

(4x+8) = 2*1/2(x+8)
multiply 2*1/2 i.e (2*2+1)/2=5/2

4x+8 =5/2(x+8)

Here is how 5:2 comes;

Initially it was 2.5:1.
To remove the decimal point,we need to multiply by 10 in the numerator and denominator also.
= 2.5/1 x10/10.
= 25/10 (on cancellation with 5, it becomes),
= 5:2.

Present age s=24, f=72(3 times more than).

After 8 years s=32, f=80(now two and half times).

Again after 8 years s=40, f=88(now 2.2 times). I got like this please give correct answer..is it correct or not?

It is given in the question that Father is aged three times more than his son Ronit and v have taken Ronit's age as x and father's age as 3x.

Since father age is MORE THAN his son's age it is x+3x.

And as @newbie said, if its correct then I am failing to understand that why is 3x + 8 = 2.5 x ? Shouldn't it be 3x + 8 = 2.5 (x + 8), because even the son's age should have been added to 8 right ?

First time more than 3 years of his son's age, after 8 years 2 and 1/2 years of Ronit age. Then finally 2 times of his son's age.

If you observe 1/2 times decreasing in ratio so its only guess.
