1.
Father is aged three times more than his son Ronit. After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of Ronit's age. After further 8 years, how many times would he be of Ronit's age?
2 times
1 times
2
3 times
4
3 times
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let Ronit's present age be x years. Then, father's present age =(x + 3x) years = 4x years.

(4x + 8) = 5 (x + 8)
2

8x + 16 = 5x + 40

3x = 24

x = 8.

Hence, required ratio = (4x + 16) = 48 = 2.
(x + 16) 24

Answer is 2.

ratio
F:S
3:1 After 8 yr.
5:2

(check differance |3-5|=2 & |1-2|=1 we know that ratio diff. must be same bcoz father age +8 with son age also +8 yr).

F:S
9:3 - - - >(x3)
10:4 - - - > (x2)
diff. =1 because of +8yr.
i.e 1=8.

The resent age father 3x8=24 + after 8 yr = 32.
The present age son 1x8=8 + after 8 yr = 16.

F/S=32/16= 2.

How the ratio is 3:1?

It is 4:1 since in question it is clearly mentioned that "3 TIMES MORE THAN RONIT ".

Then only you'll get answer, never forget this if in question it says 3 times than another ratio will be 3:1, if it says 3 times more than or larger than other you should take 4:1.

Step 1: Father is aged three times more than his son Ronit.
Let's assume Son's Age as X,
Father's Age = X+3X = 4X.

Step 2. After 8 years, he would be two and a half times of Ronit's age.
4X+8 = 2.5(X+8),
4X+8 = 2.5X+20,
4X-2.5X = 20-8,
1.5X = 12.
X = 12/1.5.
X = 8.

So, Son's Age (X) = 8 and Father's Age 4X = 4(8) = 32 [We found the actual Age].

Now add 8 years: Son's Age = X+8 =8+8 =16 and Father's Age = 4X+8 =32+8 =40.

After a further 8 years, how many times would he be of Ronit's age?
Now add 8 years: Son's Age = 16+8 = 24 and Father's Age = 40+8 = 48.

So Correct answer is 2 times.

Can you explain the last step of ratio?

Why we have to add x=8 ? I think we have to substitute the the value of x. Can anyone explain?
