At present, the ratio between the ages of Arun and Deepak is 4 : 3. After 6 years, Arun's age will be 26 years. What is the age of Deepak at present ?
12 years
15 years
19 and half
21 years
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let the present ages of Arun and Deepak be 4x years and 3x years respectively. Then,

4x + 6 = 26       4x = 20

x = 5.

Deepak's age = 3x = 15 years.

Arun age 4x+6=26----------->1
4 is ratio x is variable n 26 is his present age
Deepak age y=3x------------>2
Here y is taken for just to equate, x is variable
Now simplify eq 1
4x=26-6 ==> x=5
Sub x value in eq 2
y=3*5 (y is deepak's age)
y=15
That's it:)

Given that Arun and Deepak age are in the ratio 4x:3x.

Arun age after 6 years is 4x+6=26.

X=5.

3x=15.

Let arun age is x and deepak age is y.
According to question,

x/y= 4/3 -- (1)
x+6=26
x=20.

From(1)

y=(3/4)*x
Put x=20
y=(3/4)*20
y=15

So deepak age is 15 years.

NEW METHOD:

Arun and Deepak age is in the ratio 4:3.

After 6 years Aruns age is 26. So current age of Arun is 26-6 = 20.

4:3 = 20:Deepak.

4*Deepak = 20*3.

Deepak = 60/4 = 15.

ARUN = 4X.
DEEPAK = 3X.
WE HAVE TO FIND DEEPAK'S AGE,

ie.3X = ?.
4X+6 = 26.
4X = 20-6.
4X = 20.
X = 20/5.
X = 5.

SO, 3X = 3*5 = 15.

After 6 years means 15 +6= 21 years?

Let's consider Arun age = X;

And Deepak age = Y;

And the ratio of Arun and Deepak age = 4:3.

So, we have to take X/Y = 4/3;------------> equation 1.

Then, After 6 years, Arun age is 26;

So let's consider X+6 = 26 ==> X = 26-6 ==> X = 20------------->equation 2.

To solve on equation 1 =====> X/Y = 4/3 ==> 3X = 4Y.

Therefore 3X-4Y = 0------------>equation 3.

Let we know the x value of 20.

So we have to apply in equation 3.

= 3(20)-4Y = 0;
= 60-4Y = 0.
= -4Y = -60.

Y = 60/4.
Y = 15;

Deepak (Y) age is 15 years;

Hi to all.

Let the present ages of Arun & Deepak be "x" & "y".

Therefore, x/y = 3/4....equation 1.

Now, Six years after arun's age = 26.

i.e x+6 = 26 => x = 20 years.

Arun's present age = 20 years.

Substituting the value of "x" in equation....1 we get,

20/y = 3/4, on rearranging, we get, y = 20*3/4.

y = 15 years.

Very simple friends, if I am wrong please suggest me:

Answer: Arun : Deepak = 4:3 (present).

6 year after = Arun age is 26.

Now let 6 year before Arun age is = 20.

So let us Arun's ratio is 4 = 20.

If Arun ratio is 1 then his age is 20/4 = 5.

Similarly,

Deepak ration is 3 = 5x3 = 15 (answer).
