If we get 1 balls that is the total of 14 balls and 1 combination that means 14c1 = 14.

And so on.

C3 means the possible combinations of 3 balls from a group of 8 or 14.
We can take 3 balls from this group in variety of manners and in such situations we use combinations and hence C3.
