Look this question, it is very easy. They have given us 6 black and 8 white balls. We should find the probability of white balls.
Total number of balls = 6 + 8 = 14.
Number of white balls = 8 (favorable outcome).
The probability of the white balls = favorable outcome\total outcome.
= 8\14.
= 4\7.

You have to pick a ball from a bag containing 6 Black and 8 white balls. The ball you picked could be of any color. So the chance that it is white color is 8/14.
