Two tailors X and Y are paid a total of Rs. 550 per week by their employer. If X is paid 120 percent of the sum paid to Y, how much is Y paid per week?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let the sum paid to Y per week be Rs. z.

Very easy yaar for example first we take everything as 100.
X is paid 120 sum. So continuously X paid 120 and Y paid 100 total = 220.
Again X paid 120 and Y paid 100 total = 220.
Now the total is 220+220 = 440.
How much less for 550 is 550-440 = 110.
Now X paid 60(120/2) and Y paid 50(100/2) is 110.
These 110 is added to total.
Now 110+440=550 is coming here wt value we are add to Y is, 100+100+50=250.
So simple.
X is paid 120 sum. So continuously X paid 120 and Y paid 100 total = 220.
Again X paid 120 and Y paid 100 total = 220.
Now the total is 220+220 = 440.

Combined salary of X and Y is 550
:. X+Y=550
120% of Y+Y =550(as X is paid 120 percent of the sum paid to Y,
120/100Y+Y=550 so substitute X for 120%ofY)
12/10Y+Y=550
12Y+10Y=5500 (by taking l.c.m)
22Y=5500
Y=5500/22
Y=500/2
Y=250
:. X+Y=550
120% of Y+Y =550(as X is paid 120 percent of the sum paid to Y,

Let the amount paid to Y = 100.
Then amount paid to x= 120% of 100 = 120.
Total paid i.e., x + y = 100 + 120 = 220.
If total paid is 220, we want total amount is 550 which is 2.5 times greater than 220 so just multiply the value of Y = 100x2.5 = 250.
X = 120x2.5 = 300.
Then amount paid to x= 120% of 100 = 120.
Total paid i.e., x + y = 100 + 120 = 220.
If total paid is 220, we want total amount is 550 which is 2.5 times greater than 220 so just multiply the value of Y = 100x2.5 = 250.
X = 120x2.5 = 300.

Let amount paid to Y = 100.
Amount paid to X = 120% of 100.
= 120/100 * 100.
= 120.
Total (X+Y) = 100 + 120 = 220.
If now total is 550 then;
100/220 * 550 = 250.
Therefore the amount paid to Y = 250.
Amount paid to X = 120% of 100.
= 120/100 * 100.
= 120.
Total (X+Y) = 100 + 120 = 220.
If now total is 550 then;
100/220 * 550 = 250.
Therefore the amount paid to Y = 250.

Let y's payment be-> z and x's be -> 120% z.
x + y = 550
z + (120/100)z = 550.
By taking z out from the eqn,
z(1+(6/5)) = 550
=>taking LCM,
z((5+6)/5) = 550,
z(11/5) = 550,
z = (550*5)/11,
z = 250.
Therefore the payment is 250.
x + y = 550
z + (120/100)z = 550.
By taking z out from the eqn,
z(1+(6/5)) = 550

We are given:
Total pay for X and Y = Rs. 550.
X is paid 120% of what Y is paid.
Let Y's pay be Rs. y.
Then X's pay = 120% of y = 120/100 × 𝑦 = 1.2𝑦.
Step-by-step equation:
𝑦 + 1.2𝑦 = 550,
2.2𝑦 = 550.
𝑦 = 550/2.2 = 250.
Total pay for X and Y = Rs. 550.
X is paid 120% of what Y is paid.
Let Y's pay be Rs. y.
Then X's pay = 120% of y = 120/100 × 𝑦 = 1.2𝑦.
Step-by-step equation:
𝑦 + 1.2𝑦 = 550,
2.2𝑦 = 550.
𝑦 = 550/2.2 = 250.

X+Y = 550.
Let us assume Y is paid = a.
Then,
120% of y + y=550 i.e 120 % of a + a=550;
120/100 * a + a = 550;
1.2 a + a = 550.
2.2 a = 550,
a= 550/2.2; remove the decimal
a=5500/22,
a= 250,
Y= Rs 250.

Let Y paid 100%.
Then X will be 120% of Y.
=> (120/100)*100 = 120%.
According to qn X+Y = 550,
Then, 100%+120% =550,
=> 220%= 550,
=> 1% = 550/220= 5/2.
Then Paid to Y is 100% =(5/2)*100 = 250.
Then X will be 120% of Y.
=> (120/100)*100 = 120%.
According to qn X+Y = 550,
Then, 100%+120% =550,
=> 220%= 550,
=> 1% = 550/220= 5/2.
Then Paid to Y is 100% =(5/2)*100 = 250.
