Here we can easy to find the answer by options.
40% of apples are sold in total apples.
60% apples are left so,
By options.
D. 700.
Then 60% of 700 = 420.
Here the total apples are 700.
40% of apples are sold in total apples.
60% apples are left so,
By options.
D. 700.
Then 60% of 700 = 420.
Here the total apples are 700.

In sum, we know after selling of 40%, 420 were left. so,
60% is 420 apples.
To know value of 1% : 420/60 = 7.
Now we got value of 1%, then 100% * 7 = 700.
Finally total apples are :700.
60% is 420 apples.
To know value of 1% : 420/60 = 7.
Now we got value of 1%, then 100% * 7 = 700.
Finally total apples are :700.

420 apples are 60% of apples that are left and the amount of apples he sold are 40%.
Then if we want to know the total number of apples he had, then 10% of 420 is 70 and 100% is 700.
Then if we want to know the total number of apples he had, then 10% of 420 is 70 and 100% is 700.

The original apple x.
40% selled
420 apples left
100%-40% = 60%,
So, 420 is 60%.
60% of x = 420,
60/100 * x = 420,
3/5 * x = 420,
x = 420 * 5/3,
x = 700.
The answer is 700 apples.
40% selled
420 apples left
100%-40% = 60%,
So, 420 is 60%.
60% of x = 420,
60/100 * x = 420,
3/5 * x = 420,
x = 420 * 5/3,
x = 700.
The answer is 700 apples.

If 60% = 420.
Then, find the total.
Given, 60% = 420( cary percentage to the right will become the denominator multiplied by 100.
Then, total = 420/60 X 100.
= 7 *100
= 700.

Let the total apples be X.
40% of total apples are sold.
Remaining apples are 420.
Here,
Total - remaining apples = apples sold.
X-420=40% of X.
X-2/5X=420.
X=700.
40% of total apples are sold.
Remaining apples are 420.
Here,
Total - remaining apples = apples sold.
X-420=40% of X.
X-2/5X=420.
X=700.

It's very simple,
Suppose he had 'x' apples,
Here x = 420.
Then (100 - 40)% = 60%.
Now required solution,
60/100 *x= 420,
x = (420 *100/60) = 700.
HOPE THIS WILL HELP!

Another way is;
Let x be the total apples.
So, he sold x-420 apples which accounts for 40% of the total apples hence,
40/100 = (x - 420)/x.
After solving,
x = 700.

40/100 = (x - 420)/x.
After solving,
x = 700.

Suppose he has x apples.
He has sold 40% and the remaining apples are 420.
40% apples = total apple - remaining apple.
= x - 420.
x - 420 = 40/100 * x.
x = 700.
He has sold 40% and the remaining apples are 420.
40% apples = total apple - remaining apple.
= x - 420.
x - 420 = 40/100 * x.
x = 700.
