1.
A batsman scored 110 runs which included 3 boundaries and 8 sixes. What percent of his total score did he make by running between the wickets?
45%
45 5 %
11
54 6 %
11
55%
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Number of runs made by running = 110 - (3 x 4 + 8 x 6)

= 110 - (60)

= 50.

Required percentage = 50 x 100 % = 45 5 %
110 11

@All.

Explanation: out of 110 runs with bound and 8 sixes : 3 boundaries + 8 sixes = 60 runs with bound and 8sixes rest are runs with running between wickets.
110-60 = 50 (now they ask for the percentage for 50 with 110), that is 50% of 110, then
50/100 * 110 = 45.4% which is the correct answer.

Total runs =110.
Boundaries means (4)=>so,
Qus:3 boundaries =3*4=12.
Sixes(6)=>so,
Qus:8 sixes = 8*6=48.
So, boundary + sixes = 12 + 48 = 60.
The, 60 runs is only boundaries and sixes.
But, the question was running b/w the wickets (only scores the runs in running ).
So, total - (boundaries &sixes) = running runs.
So, 110(total) - 60(boundaries &sixes) = 50(running runs).
Here, it is asked percentage :
So, running runs/total *100 = ans.
So, 50/110*100 = 500/11,
And the answer is 45*5/11.

Total score = 110,
3 * 4 = 12,
8 * 6 = 48.

Total score - six and four = 110 - 60 = 50,
Percentage = 50/1100 * 100,
= 45(5/11).

Just we have used the formula.

50 runs are scored by running out of total score 110.

And as we have asked the ans. Should be in percentage.

Any quantity when multiplied by 100, we get the value in percentage.

(50*100)/110=500/11 are you agree with this, then

45*11=495 where 11 is denominator then by adding 5 to 495 we will get 500, then keep the denominator same.

@seshadri,
remember one thing
any fraction can be written in the following format

quotient *(remainder/divisor)

we get fraction as
500/11

just convert it into above format
thats it

In order to find the percentage of runs scored by running the wickets.

see the total runs scored by the batsman is 110.
runs scored by fours and sixes is 4*3+6*8=60

then runs scored by running b/w wickets = 50(total runs(110) - runs scored by fours and sixes(60))

for 110 runs if he scored 50 runs by running b/w wickets
then for 100 how much

this can written in the ratio form as 110:100::50:X
then x=(100*50)/110
solving we get the answer as 500/11
converting in mixed fraction we 45*5/11.

i hope u understood.. have a nice day.
