Why we have to divide by 110 & multiply by 100?

@seshadri,
remember one thing
any fraction can be written in the following format

quotient *(remainder/divisor)

we get fraction as
500/11

As 2*1/2 =5/2

Similarly 500/11=45* 5/11 that is

( (45*11)+5)/11

When we divide 500 by 11 then we get 45 as answer and 5 as remainder so B is the answer.
