Formula:
1 => Decrease = difference/high value*100.
2 => Increase = difference/low value *100.
Difference = 262500 - 175000 = 87500.
Lower value = 175000.
=> increase = 87500/175000 * 100 = 50
We need to find for per year so 50/10 = 5.
1 => Decrease = difference/high value*100.
2 => Increase = difference/low value *100.
Difference = 262500 - 175000 = 87500.
Lower value = 175000.
=> increase = 87500/175000 * 100 = 50
We need to find for per year so 50/10 = 5.

@Manisha it is very easy.
20% rent
60%expenses
10% lic
30rs children education.
So 20+60+10=90%
The remaining 10% is left which is for education.
So 10% means 30 rs.
For 100%=300 rs.
So answer will be 300.

If the current population is P and it increases at r% p.a., then population after n years = P(1+r/100)^n.
Why can't we simply put in the values and find the answer? By this method, the answer comes out as 4.13%. Can someone explain?

Easy method:
Salary be x.
Total expenditure is 20%+60%+10% = 90%.
Remaining 10%,
10% of x = 30rs,
10x = 3000,
X = 300rs,
Salary is 300rs.
Salary be x.
Total expenditure is 20%+60%+10% = 90%.
Remaining 10%,
10% of x = 30rs,
10x = 3000,
X = 300rs,
Salary is 300rs.

@Aparna.
You are 100% wrong. Because you should take 60% of 100Rs, not 60% out of 80.
Take the % out of 100Rs, not out of remaining cost.

We use the formula 262500 = 175000(1+ R/100)^n.
Where n = 10, and the value of R turns out to be 4.138 which is 4.138%. So none of these is the answer.

@Manisha.
20+60+10=90 so remaining is 10%. They said the remaining salary 30.
So 9*30=270.
Total salary=270+30=300.
20+60+10=90 so remaining is 10%. They said the remaining salary 30.
So 9*30=270.
Total salary=270+30=300.
