A and B started a business in partnership investing Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 respectively. After six months, C joined them with Rs. 20,000. What will be B's share in total profit of Rs. 25,000 earned at the end of 2 years from the starting of the business?
Rs. 7500
Rs. 9000
Rs. 9500
Rs. 10,000
Answer: Option
Explanation:

A : B : C = (20,000 x 24) : (15,000 x 24) : (20,000 x 18) = 4 : 3 : 3.

B's share = Rs. 25000 x 3 = Rs. 7,500.

How did you take 24, 24, 18? please tell me.

Devi said:   1 decade ago
Hi sujana, 2years in the sense 24 months. C only join after six months. So 18 months. B ratio is 3. Sum of ratio is 10. So we have devide 3/10 then multiply with overall profit.

How make a ratio like 4 : 3 : 3 ?

Anu said:   1 decade ago
@Durai.

(20,000 x 24):(15,000 x 24):(20000 x 18)
= 480000:360000:360000

= 48:36:36

= 4:3:3 ...........(Dividing with 12)

Is it clear ?

Why did you divide it by 12? I know that you will only divide it by their sum. If I'm not mistaken?
