You are confuse 10 is sum of ratio so for decide profit of B only it is divide by 10. But to take ratio in simplified format it is divide by 12 because 48, 36 both come in table of 12 so it is easy to simplify it.

Hello for two years we have 12*12 = 24 months and here they mentioned after 6 months C joined so from 24 months we less 6 then we get 24-6 = 18 i.e how we got 18 here.
I think it is helpful to understand this right.

Hey its simple.
25,000 = 10x.
B's belongs to 3x.
So (3/10)X25,000 = 7,500.
Can you get it?
25,000 = 10x.
B's belongs to 3x.
So (3/10)X25,000 = 7,500.
Can you get it?

Ratios are 4 : 3 : 3.
We can say that A's share = 4 out of 4 + 3 + 3,
Similarly, B's share = 3 out of 4 + 3 + 3,
And C's share = 3 out of 4 + 3 + 3 or 3 out of 10 or 3/10.
We can say that A's share = 4 out of 4 + 3 + 3,
Similarly, B's share = 3 out of 4 + 3 + 3,
And C's share = 3 out of 4 + 3 + 3 or 3 out of 10 or 3/10.
