On dividing a number by 56, we get 29 as remainder. On dividing the same number by 8, what will be the remainder ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Formula: (Divisor*Quotient) + Remainder = Dividend.
Soln:
(56*Q)+29 = D -------(1)
D%8 = R -------------(2)
From equation(2),
((56*Q)+29)%8 = R.
=> Assume Q = 1.
=> (56+29)%8 = R.
=> 85%8 = R
=> 5 = R.

If we want to find remainder first check divisibility by given num.
In example 56 is divisible by 8 then,
For 29,
First 29-8-8-8 = 24.
Subtract num till it is possible and left num is our ans.
29-24 = 5.

Add 56+29 = 85 ; because dividing 85 by 56 will leave 29 as remainder.
Now, divide 85 by 8 and you'll get 5 as remainder.
Therefore, answer is 5.
It can be applicable to any level of these type of questions.

Ist equation is ;-
x = 56y + 29
2nd equation :-
when same number i.e; x is divided by 8 rem. is :-
56y + 29 / 8
now 59 is completely divisible by 8 but when 29 is divided rem. is 5
x = 56y + 29
2nd equation :-
when same number i.e; x is divided by 8 rem. is :-
56y + 29 / 8
now 59 is completely divisible by 8 but when 29 is divided rem. is 5

Let's follow the formula:
Dividend = Divisor*Quotient+Reminder.
Let quotient be 1.
56*1+29 = 85.
Now the number is 85,
So by dividing 85 by 8, we get quotient as 1 and reminder as 5. So 5 is the answer.
Dividend = Divisor*Quotient+Reminder.
Let quotient be 1.
56*1+29 = 85.
Now the number is 85,
So by dividing 85 by 8, we get quotient as 1 and reminder as 5. So 5 is the answer.

Let x be the number which is divisible by 56 and gives remainder 29.
Here 56 is also divisible by 8. So the x also divisible by 8 and gives remainder of 29 again 29 divisible by 8 and gives remainder 5.
Here 56 is also divisible by 8. So the x also divisible by 8 and gives remainder of 29 again 29 divisible by 8 and gives remainder 5.

56 is completely divisible by 8.
So answer is reminder of 29/8 i.e. 5.
NOTE: Above procedure is applicable only because 8 is a factor of 56. Otherwise it is not possible to find a particular answer.

Let number be X and quotient be K.
As we known dividend=divisor*quotient+remainder.
So x=56*K+29 from given information.
Then number=8*7K+8*3+5.
=8(7K+3)+5.
So remainder will be 5.

Suppose that on dividing the given number by 56, we get quotient=k and remainder=29.
Then, number = 56k+29.
= (8*7k)+(8*3)+5.
= 8*(7k+3)+5.
So, the number when divided by 18 gives remainder = 5.
Then, number = 56k+29.
= (8*7k)+(8*3)+5.
= 8*(7k+3)+5.
So, the number when divided by 18 gives remainder = 5.

Guys ....here it is :-
they said remainder is 29..by dividing some number by 56 rght so
if we add 29 and 56 we get 85
so 85 is number so is we divide 85 by 8 we get 5 has remainder
so ans = 5
