On dividing a number by 56, we get 29 as remainder. On dividing the same number by 8, what will be the remainder ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Formula: (Divisor*Quotient) + Remainder = Dividend.
Soln:
(56*Q)+29 = D -------(1)
D%8 = R -------------(2)
From equation(2),
((56*Q)+29)%8 = R.
=> Assume Q = 1.
=> (56+29)%8 = R.
=> 85%8 = R
=> 5 = R.

Given 56Q+29 = X.
1) Where 56 is divisible by 8 gives 0 as remainder and then 29/8 gives 5 as remainder.
(OR)
2) Put 1 or 2 or 3... in place of Q.
For ex Q=1 then,
(56+29)/8 gives remainder 5.

Assume the number as x and the quotient is k.
Given that if the number is divided by 56 we get 29 as remainder.
X = (56*k)+29.
= 56k+24+5.
= 8(7k+3)+5.
Therefore if the number is divided by 8 we will get 5 as remainder.
Given that if the number is divided by 56 we get 29 as remainder.
X = (56*k)+29.
= 56k+24+5.
= 8(7k+3)+5.
Therefore if the number is divided by 8 we will get 5 as remainder.

Let k be the quotient, when the number is divided by 56, then
Number = k* 56 + 29
The number can also be expressed as => k * 8 * 7 + 24 + 5
So when it is divided by 8, remainder is ((k*8*7)%8=0) +(24%8=0) + (5%8=5) i.e. 5
Number = k* 56 + 29
The number can also be expressed as => k * 8 * 7 + 24 + 5
So when it is divided by 8, remainder is ((k*8*7)%8=0) +(24%8=0) + (5%8=5) i.e. 5

If devisor is completely divisible by new divisor then, we shuld divide the remainder.....ie
29 /8 = 5
ans 5
If not divisble answr: can'be determine
If they ask double of number simply do 29+29 =58
58 /5 = remainder is 3
29 /8 = 5
ans 5
If not divisble answr: can'be determine

58 /5 = remainder is 3

A number whrn divided by a certain division, left a remainder of 8. When the same number was multiplied by 12 & then divided by the same divisor, the remainder is 12. How many are such divisors?
Can anyone solve this?

Let X be the number.
According to the formula,
Divisor = dividend-remainder/quotient.
Putting all in formula.
56 = x-29.
x = 85.
Now we got the number therefore dividing it by 8.
We get Remainder as 5 That's the Answer.

Hi,
Firstly let the number is 'x'. And quotient is k then,
x = 56k + 29 we can write ok the number is same in second cases that is 'x' then now taking 8 as a common so x = 8 (7k + 3) + 5 so 5 is your remainder now.

Let the quotient be k.
Therefore the number will be 56k + 29.
= 8*7k + 8*3 + 5,
= (8*7k+8*3) + 5,
= 8*(7k+3) + 5,
This is in the form of divisor * quotient + remainder.
Therefore the remainder is 5.
Hope it helps.

It's a simple calculation,
If X%56 = 29, then X%8 = ?
Simply add, 56+29=85.Because Take a least +ve integer value.
For(X) that is divisible by 56 and get the remainder is 29.
Now,
8)85(8
80
