x>6 or x<6 its fine. Then how about when x=6? can you please clarify it?
For these formula,
(5x+30)12/11 where x<6.
(5x-30)12/11 where x>6.

This question is solved by using formula.
A=30*HOUR -5.5*MINUTES.
Here we aer going to take A =180 degrees (straight line).
180=30*7-5.5*M.
M is minutes.
A=30*HOUR -5.5*MINUTES.
Here we aer going to take A =180 degrees (straight line).
180=30*7-5.5*M.
M is minutes.

Trick is 60/11 *( time +or - 6).
So between 7 to 8. Time is smaller one is.7 now here 7 is big than 6 so formula become 60/11 * (7-6) which is the answer.

I think they are counting clock wise direction from hour hand to minute hand. If they count from minute hand to hour hand it will be 35 mins

Simple formula :
Given start time i.e. 7 o clock.
x=difference between both hand in minutes.
Formula =(60*x)/(60-x) past the given time.

Use formula.
(5A + or - 30) * 12/11min past A.
Where A = + whan A < 6 and - when a > 6.
According to the question A = 5.
(5A + or - 30) * 12/11min past A.

In 1 hr minute, min hand covers 60 min and hr hand covers 5 min. Comparing both minute hand gains 55 min in 1 hr.

@Nithya.
This is very simple just see clock at the time of 7 o'clock.
The difference between hour hand and minute is 25 min.
