What was the day of the week on 28th May, 2006?
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
Answer: Option
Explanation:

28 May, 2006 = (2005 years + Period from 1.1.2006 to 28.5.2006)

Odd days in 1600 years = 0

Odd days in 400 years = 0

5 years = (4 ordinary years + 1 leap year) = (4 x 1 + 1 x 2) 6 odd days

Jan. Feb. March April May
(31 + 28 + 31 + 30 + 28 ) = 148 days

148 days = (21 weeks + 1 day) 1 odd day.

Total number of odd days = (0 + 0 + 6 + 1) = 7 0 odd day.

Given day is Sunday.

How to find number of leap years and ordinary years within a given number of years?

For example, in 100 years, 24 leap and 76 ordinary years.

How to find this?

Odd day means (it is the day after counting weeks. In a normal year, we consists of 52 weeks and 1 odd day and in leap year we consists 52 weeks and 2 odd days).

28 means 28/7... It means 0.
May code is 1.
Year 6.
Leap year 1.
Century code is. 6.
Therefore 0+1+6+1+6= 14/7. The remainder is 0.
0 is the code of Sunday.

@Priya suppose take the month of January, in this month you have 31 days right where 7 days in a week and 31/7 (3 will be quotient) 3 is nothing but odd days.

46 years = 11 leap years+35 ordinary years?

Can any one explain me in simple manner? Please.

I'm not understanding the relation between 1600yrs & 400yrs.

Why not we can take 1200yrs & 800yrs instead of 1600yrs & 400yrs?
