You have to take the given two statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the two given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.
Give answer:
- (A) If only (1) conclusion follows
- (B) If only (2) conclusion follows

All cups are books. All books are shirts.
By analyzing both sentences we can conclude that-:.
All cups are shirts. Because both are universal affirmation type sentence hence conclusion must be universal affirmation and it should not include common term (books). All cups are shirts it is not saying that all shirts are cups some shirts may be but not all. Hence some shirts are cups it right answer hence second follow.

@ALL.
Statements:
All cups are books.
All books are shirts.
Conclusions:
Some cups are not shirts.
Some shirts are cups.
The Reverse of both statements are:
Some books are cups
Some shirts are books
But some + some= no conclusion
The answer must be (D )neither (1) nor (2) follows right?
Then, how the answer is (B)?

Actually, I think that should be wrong, because of.
"some cups are not shirts" is given i.e., -ve stmt, then we should search for complementary +ve if its proved (should satisfy the given Statements) then absolutely -ve statement also be proved.
How:
"All cups are shirts" (+ve Complementary).
Both 1 & 2 follows.

All +All =All is the basic conclusion statement obtained after applying syllogism rules. Here we obtain the.
Conclusion statement as ALL CUPS ARE SHIRTS i.e. cups are definite and shirts are indefinite. So we can.
Write shirts as indefinite one i. e SOME SHIRTS ARE CUPS, which is just a simple logic.

From diagram we can see clearly that some books r cups & some shirts are books
some B = c
some S = B
so some S are C ( here conclusion 2 followa)
go for 1st con it doesn't follows
Finally option 2 is answer.

go for 1st con it doesn't follows
Finally option 2 is answer.

No, this is not a case of either or because for the either or case both sentence must be wrong.
But here conclusion 1 is wrong and conclusion 2 is correct.
But here conclusion 1 is wrong and conclusion 2 is correct.

Option B is correct. Because it is already given in Venn diagram that " all cups are shirts". Then there is nothing to say that "some cups are shirts".

Here the answer is Both 1 & 2 follows. Because here all cups can be shirts but he said that some cups not shirts so 1 follows, 2nd obviously follows.

Some cups are not shirts yeah only all the cups are shirts so it follows 1 and also some shirts are cups so it also follows 2. Answer is option E.

Can anyone please explain me why is it not D?
Because in the question nothing has said about the shirt.
I am sure it will be D.
