Directions to Solve

In each of the following questions two statements are given and these statements are followed by two conclusions numbered (1) and (2). You have to take the given two statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the two given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

Give answer:

  • (A) If only (1) conclusion follows
  • (B) If only (2) conclusion follows
  • (C) If either (1) or (2) follows
  • (D) If neither (1) nor (2) follows and
  • (E) If both (1) and (2) follow.

@Anshul

1. Draw the all possible venn diagram based on the given statements.

2. Now take the conclusion 1 and check with all diagrams. If it satisfies with all diagram we can say that conclusion 1 follows.

3. Now take the conclusion 2 and check with all diagrams. If it satisfies with all diagram we can say that conclusion 2 follows.

4. Based on the above 2 steps's results, choose the answer.

Hope this may help you. Have a nice day!

2nd conclusion is converse of 2nd statement.

'door' in a middle word. We can't use it in conclusion.

2nd conclusion is correct, not using the rules of syllogism, but using the rules of conversion.

2nd conclusion is correct because all window is door & no door is wall so positive relation between wall & window is not possible. Only negative relation can be established.
