You have to take the given two statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance from commonly known facts. Read the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the two given statements, disregarding commonly known facts.

Give answer:

  • (A) If only (1) conclusion follows
  • (B) If only (2) conclusion follows
  • (C) If either (1) or (2) follows
  • (D) If neither (1) nor (2) follows and
  • (E) If both (1) and (2) follow.

Why not A?

I think D is correct because there would be only few crows that are elephants and not some. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The answer is D because in syllogism the second figure is used as a possibility. So to find the condition true or false we would see the first figure rather than the second one. And if possibility is asked then the answer would have been first which is 1 one follows.

Therefore some cows and elephant is a possibility not true.

I hope this answer helps you.

Right, When we try it in income expense method the option D is correct.

Even using the first diagram option A is possible. Isnt' it?

Because Some cows are crows. And some crows are elephants. So there is a possibility of a cow can be an elephant. Right?

Option D is correct, because we have to consider all possibilities. And if a possibility doesn't satisfy, then it can't be true. Here, diagram 2 satisfies but diagram 1 doesn't. So, some cows are not elephants.
