Harry is just next to the left of Larry.

This condition means harry is in left side of larry. So the arrangement must be like LH.

Why all are writing in the arrangement HL?

* There are totally 8 houses. Lets read the details completely first.

* From the 4 th point we come to know that, paul lives either in house 4 or 5. So place him in 4 or 5.

* From 5 th line we come to know that, mike lives in between paul and larry. So we can place larry either in 2nd, 3rd, 6th or 7th depending on the position of paul.

* From 3th line we come to know that, there is at-least one to the left of larry and they can be many and from 2nd line we come to know that the person left to larry is harry. If we consider these points, we cannot place larry in 6 th place and 7th place.

* We have to place larry either in 2nd or 3rd position. As we have placed jack in first position we cannot have larry in 2nd position.

* Hence we place larry in the 3rd position. Now we have jack at 1st place, harry at 2nd place, larry at 3rd place, mike at 4th place and paul at 5th place.

* Now we place siman at 6th, robert at 7th and taud at 8th places respectively.

* The final positions are,

1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8.

Jack harry larry mike paul siman robert taud.

Answer is: C.

We do not need to find J and S position and even it is not clear so the arrangement will be like:

J/S R J/S P M H L T

SO TAUD IS NOT IN BETWEEN JACK AND PAUL.

J H L M P T R S , should be the arrangement , fulfilling all the conditions of the clues given in the question , and it is clear from the arrangement , Robert is not at the left end, there are three person to the right of paul, Robert is between simon & taud but taud is not between paul and jack.

HARRY - LARRY - MIKE - PAUL - TAUD - JACK - ROBERT - SIMAN.

SO ANS IS C.
