Generally, we take the north direction upwards, west on the left side, east on the right and south towards downwards. According to that, the direction of Udai facing will be east.

If we are crossing somewhere we only assume our direction toward the north, and someone coming infront of us that means he is going towards the south.
That is why if a shadow is left or right side doesn't matter so Uday is going toward North and also facing towards north while talking Vishal.
