South is the correct answer.

The question says 'from which direction did I start my journey' - so, After the end of the journey if you look back you'll see that he started from the south.

If the had been say - 'Towards which direction did I start my journey?' then the answer will have been North.

North is the correct answer.

Because in the diagram above, eventually I am at east if in the end, I was moving to north, so I have to take a left turn from the east and consequently my starting point will be shifted to left, which is at the north. Am I right?

North is the correct answer because he is facing towards north.

First, the direction of a man is in the south and moved 6km to the north so the initial direction of a man is south.

Initially, I thought the right answer is north.

When I saw the question again and thought the 'south' answer is correct only if the question is from which direction I had started to reach the final point?

If we look at the point at the end of the journey he started from south-west not south. But according to the question, the answer is North.
