Given answer is correct as it isn't asking which direction I was facing at the start of the journey rather they're asking what direction did I start from?
How can he start from north and end up north only without even making a loop? Hence he went from south to north!

Based on the information provided, you started your journey from the West direction. Here's the step-by-step explanation:
You walked 6 km in an unknown direction.
Then, you turned right (which is a 90-degree clockwise rotation) from your current direction.
You walked 2 km in this new direction, which means you covered a total of 8 km from your starting point (6 km + 2 km).
Next, you turned left (which is a 90-degree counterclockwise rotation) from your current direction. You walked 10 km in this new direction.
In the end, you were moving towards the North direction.
Based on the above information, you started your journey from the West direction, as you turned right initially and then turned left, which would align you towards the North direction from the West direction.

South is the right answer. The question is asking from which direction, not to which direction.
