Question: How is Tanya related to the man in the photograph ?
Statements:
- Man in the photograph is the only son of Tanya's grandfather.
- The man in the photograph has no brothers or sisters and his father is Tanya's grandfather.
Answer: Option
Explanation:
From I, we conclude that the man is the only son of Tanya's grandfather i.e. he is Tanya's father or Tanya is the man's daughter.
From II, we conclude that the man's father is Tanya's grandfather. Since the man has no brothers or sisters, so he is Tanya's father or Tanya is the man's daughter.

Statement I: “Man in the photograph is the only son of Tanya’s grandfather.”
This could mean the man is either Tanya’s father or her paternal uncle.
Statement II: “The man in the photograph has no brothers or sisters and his father is Tanya’s grandfather.”
This clarifies that the man has no siblings, which means he cannot be Tanya’s paternal uncle (since he would need to have a brother, Tanya’s father).
Given this, Statement II alone is indeed sufficient to determine that the man in the photograph is Tanya’s father, as he has no siblings and his father is Tanya’s grandfather.
So, the correct option should be B) II alone is sufficient while I alone is not sufficient.

Here the matter is not about whether Tanya's gender guys. The question is how is Tanya related to the man. So, with the given options we could conclude that the man is the father of Tanya and according to you if Tanya is not a daughter, even then it doesn't matter.
Because that may be a father-son relation or father-daughter relation. But the question is not that. The question is just how is the man related to Tanya.
So the man is the father of Tanya. That's all, stop worrying about Tanya's gender which is just a waste of time and start thinking on drawing the final answer.

Clearly it is mentioned in statement 1 that the Tanya's father is the only son of her grandfather. So she is related as daughter.
In case some guys are saying that only son doesn't mean Tanya's grandfather has no daughter, yes it is possible but the old man would be maternal grandfather not the grandfather with respect to Tanya.
Hence the correct option is C. Statement 1 also alone can relate Tanya to the man in the photograph. Yes, gender wise Tanya is a girl off course, apply your common sense people, its a hint.

Here, 1. Man is the only son of Tanya's Grandfather - which doesn't imply that the man is the only child of Tanya's Grandfather ( He doesn't have a son but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a daughter.
2. Man in the photograph has no brother and sister and his father is Tanya's grandfather - This concludes that Man in the photo is the only child of Tanya's Grandfather and hence he none other than Tanya's Father.
So, Option B is correct.

From 1: The man in the photograph is the only son of Tanya's grandfather.
It means he had only one son, because he said only son, (that means no daughters and no sons, rather than one son) and he said TANYA'S GRANDFATHER, which means granddaughter of his SON. IT means Tanya is the daughter of her grandfather"s son.
So, only one statement can be correct.

From I, it can be so that the man in the photography can be Tanya's Uncle (if the grandfather is from maternal side). Hence it cannot be said for sure it is her Father or Uncle.
From II, it is evident that the man does not have brothers or sisters. Hence if he is the ONLY child of Tanya's grandfather, he has to be Tanya's father.
Therefore, answer is B.

Statement I: Man in the photograph is the only son of Tanya's grandfather.
The man in the photo is the only son of the grandfather. but the grand father could of had a daughter(s).
The man in the photograph could be either tanya's father or uncle.
Therefore the answer should be [B].

Here in the first case, they didn't tell whether Tanya's grandfather has how many children, that man can be a maternal uncle too.
So, Hence we cannot conclude, but in 2nd case,
We can see that the man has no siblings, so we can get a direct conclusion.

Here they have given as Tanya's grandfather so not as maternal grandfather so the only son must be his father according to option 1 and option 2 is indeed a correct option.
So, both 1 and 2 are correct according to me.
Anyone, Correct me if I am wrong.
