Hey Khushbu, these both are independent effects only. as in the first statement the airport staff is withdrawing the strike they had because of privatization. But in the second statement they r going for stike for some unknown reason(cause of strike is unknown as it is not mentioned here in st 2).The staff can do the strike due to many reasons(may or may not be privatization). In the second statement the staff can withdraw the strike due to any cause independent of second statement(may be the increase in salary or facilities). so both statements r the causes of independent causes.

On the face of it the correct answer is B. Because it's a CAUSE & EFFECT. Unless you are on a strike you cannot call it off! Hence the obvious.

Now if you see it in another way it still is the same but it is important to mention that the reason for the strike "appears" to be mentioned in the sentence that says it's been called off.

On the whole, the question itself is misleading and there is a huge space for arguments and will never resolve!

Yeah, it should be option B as the 2nd one will be the cause, strike which they called off due to their insecurity in jobs will be the effect.

Reason for strike is given in the second statement i.e. fear of loss of job. Which is due to to privatisation. So both have same cause.

I think it should be B.

"protest against privatization" in st1 and "a threat to their jobs" is a direct link between two statements.

B Should be the correct answer because privatisation comes with a threat to job security.

Option E could also be a possibility since the strike could be because of privatisation.

How come. Airport authority are scared of losig their job because of privatization.

I think E is correct. Because both are the effect of some common issue.
