Pointing to a photograph of a boy Suresh said, "He is the son of the only son of my mother." How is Suresh related to that boy?

Rohit said: (Oct 29, 2010) Kanika ji, suresh is the son of only son of his mother not the guy in photograph.

Mythili said: (Dec 24, 2010) The only son of mother is himself(Suresh). So son of the only son(Suresh) i.e Suresh is the father of that son... MOTHER --> SURESH(ONLY SON) --> SON Relation b/w Suresh & son is father and son relation... Hope you understand Kanika :-)

Manohar said: (Feb 10, 2011) Nice mithili. Thanks.

Muthukumar said: (Jun 17, 2011) Nice explanation.

Sri Lakshmi said: (Jul 17, 2011) In this question mentioned clearly is "only son" so suresh is the son of the mother then the son only son means suresh son.then suresh is the father of the son presented in the photograph. I hope you understand ?

Kartikey Patel said: (Aug 6, 2011) Good explananation.

Sasi said: (Aug 11, 2011) Excellent. First time I was also confused.this explanation is really good. Its very interesting.

Podi said: (Aug 11, 2011) Its very brilliant. Its very useful for my interview time.

Sasi Naga said: (Aug 13, 2011) Excellent.

Abhi said: (Aug 24, 2011) As Suresh is the only son of his mother',so the son of the son means Suresh's son i.e he is the father.

Raj Singh said: (Aug 30, 2011) In this types of questions to solve, follow right to left step by steps ...like my mother's only son ->suresh (himself)-> son So Suresh is the father of boy.

Nivetha said: (Sep 9, 2011) Ya now I understand clearly.

Narayan said: (Sep 22, 2011) Best explanation.

Bijaya Laxmi Saboot said: (Nov 11, 2011) I just want to all the sort trick of bloodrelation and dereaction in reasoning and all the short trick of quick math calculation.

Ajendra Bediya said: (Mar 9, 2012) The question clearly pointed that - son of the only son of my mother (that boy is the son of mine and i'm the only son of my mother). * mother-son(suresh)-son(boy) Could you get it ?

Sivashankar.S said: (Mar 27, 2012) Could you explain through the chart method?

Anshu said: (Mar 31, 2012) Suresh Mother | | | Suresh [ the only son ] | | | His son Therefore the father is the best alternative here I hope this helps!

Karthik said: (Jan 30, 2013) Split the sentence as, 1) He is the son. 2) The only son of my mother. 2 point means suresh itself. now join both sentence, it becomes, He is the son of suresh. Therefore suresh is the father. I hope it helps.

Rajasekharreddy said: (Jun 25, 2013) No the explanation is wrong. He is telling that "His mother has only son." means, 1. He is telling that she is his mother. 2. She has only son. means He is showing himself.

 S. Brojen Singh said: (Aug 16, 2013) Ask question who is Suresh ? Suresh is the only son of mother. Hence the boy is the son of Suresh.

Ole said: (Aug 27, 2013) Sure, it makes sense. But it is a lot easier if you know that Suresh is a man's name.

Meraj Husain said: (Oct 13, 2013) "He is the son of the only son of my mother." Please observe the sentence that mentions "only son of my mother" it means mother has only one son that is suresh, hence the son (in photograph) of suresh means-Suresh is father of that boy. If "only" would not have been there, it will mean mother would have more than one child (suresh) then answer would be different.

Atif said: (Jan 2, 2014) How is A's sister's grandfather's only son's only child related to A. Brother, cousin, himself, nephew, can't be determine. Please answer in details or w/ the help of diagram.

Ashish Dubey said: (Jun 21, 2014) He is the son of the only son of my mother. When he is the son of the only son of his mother how is he father.

Vinod said: (Jul 26, 2014) If suresh is father of that boy, then how can say. He is the son of the only son of my mother. My mother son means himself that is only suresh.

Aadhithya said: (Sep 8, 2014) Does the graphical interpretation of the questions will help us to find the answer quickly and exactly ?

Muruganandam said: (Sep 11, 2014) I feel the blood relation problems more difficult. Can any one give some valuable tips regarding this topics?

Rizvi said: (Sep 30, 2014) Here the said mother is the mother of Suresh. And Suresh is the only son of his mother. The boy pointed in the photo is the only son of Suresh!

Samir Kumar Das said: (Dec 18, 2014) Suresh Said: "He is the son of the only son of my mother". Suresh said only son of my mother - Means mother has only one son and that is Suresh. ANS: 1. Suresh said: Only son of my mother -> Himself = Suresh. 2. He is the Son -> Son of Suresh = Suresh is the Father.

Shivam said: (May 17, 2015) Suresh is a father.

Shubham said: (May 28, 2015) The answer given for this answer is wrong. Though the name Suresh appears to be a 'male' name but it's not necessary. If Suresh happens to be a girl then the answer will be uncle. So the answer is either father or uncle.

Asim said: (Jun 9, 2015) I heard solving by Venn diagram these questions are easy, anybody know how to do that?

Shankar said: (Jun 12, 2015) Son of son of Suresh mother i.e. Suresh brother's son is a boy. So, brother's son in uncle which is Suresh. So answer is uncle.

Ranjeet said: (Jun 30, 2015) Mother (Suresh). | Son means Suresh. | Son means Suresh son. So that photo is Suresh son. i.e is Suresh is father.

Kirti said: (Sep 28, 2015) Can't get clearly please explain.

 Jeyanthi said: (Sep 28, 2015) I don't know anything.

Krishna said: (Oct 5, 2015) Can anyone explain how to solve more complex blood relation questions easily and quickly?

Karthick said: (Oct 25, 2015) Suresh being a man or women is not given. Can we assume Suresh a male with his name? Only son can mean the mother can have a daughter?

Lulo said: (Nov 12, 2015) It very simple Suresh is father.

Harish said: (Nov 12, 2015) How Suresh himself become father?

Jatinder said: (Dec 16, 2015) Why you written then Suresh's mother? It's showing like Suresh mother.

Irshad said: (Mar 4, 2016) Which statement tells you that suresh is a male? Suresh can be a female. Merely having name 'suresh' doesn't specify whether it is a male or female. So if suresh is a male he would be father of the boy in photo and if suresh is female she would be paternal aunt of the boy. But after looking at the available options only correct option is father. So the given answer is correct but given explanation is wrong.

Chaitanya said: (Aug 31, 2016) @Shyamji Difference between the son and only son means SON means he or she has one or more SONS but Only son means he or she has only one son (he don't have a brother). I hope you understand.

Abdul Mujeeb said: (Sep 9, 2016) The Key word Here is ONLY and MY. The moment he says ONLY SON of MY mother. ie He is referring to himself in a complicated way. He is the son of Suresh himself. Hence Suresh is FATHER.

Partha said: (Sep 22, 2016) I think that boy is the brother of Suresh i.e. Because Suresh said he is the son of my (my means here Suresh) mother, therefore, Suresh is the brother of that boy.

Swarna said: (Sep 24, 2016) I didn't get it. Please explain me simply.

Devesh Vats said: (Oct 6, 2016) Yes, you are right @Partha.

Subi said: (Oct 9, 2016) @All Don't make confusion "He is the son of the only son of my mother. " means Suresh's mother's son who? Suresh. And that boy is his son.

Srinath said: (Feb 22, 2017) Understand it now, thank you all.

Yenshi said: (Feb 25, 2017) Mother ------ only son (Suresh) ------ man (towards he is pointing). So, there is relation of father and son.

Preethi.S said: (Mar 24, 2017) I'm not clear with the explanation. Please anyone explain me clearly.

Shivani said: (Jun 21, 2017) How is my brother's grandfather's only son's only child related to me? Please answer me.

Mahendran said: (Jul 17, 2017) The above question does not explain about Suresh's father. Then how can we understand the question?

Sumithra said: (Jul 23, 2017) I easily understand it. Thank you @Lakshmi.

Sukhchain Ram said: (Aug 15, 2017) Sir, What do you mean by the only son of my father?

Raja Ahmed said: (Aug 20, 2017) UNCLE IS RIGHT ANS Because MOTHER'S SON MEAN BROTHER SO THE BOY IN PHOTOGRAPH IS THE SON OF SURAISH BROTHER THEREFORE SURAISH WILL BE UNCLE OF THE BOY HOPE U ALL GET IT. In Blood relation section, the correct answer depends upon the knowledge of the blood relations, some of which are summarized below to help solve these tests. Mother's or father's son = Brother. Mother's or father's daughter = Sister. Mother's or father's brother = Uncle. Mother's or father's sister = Aunt. Mother's or father's father = Grandfather. Mother's or father's mother = Grandmother. Son's wife = Daughter-in-Law. Daughter's husband = Son-in-Law. Husband's or wife's sister = Sister-in-Law. Husband's or wife's brother = Brother-in-Law. Brother's son = Nephew. Brother's daughter = Niece. Uncle or aunt's son or daughter = Cousin. Sister's husband = Brother-in-Law. Brother's wife = Sister-in-Law. Grandson's or Grand daughter's daughter = Great granddaughter.

Siva said: (Aug 24, 2017) @Aman. C is not sister of D, but D is a sister of c is present in our options.

Sujeet said: (Sep 11, 2017) Sir we can select the gender on the base of person Name. If in case the name sonu then how to decide gender? Please clear my doubt.

Sagarika said: (Mar 22, 2018) I have no clarity in the answer. Please, anyone, explain it.

Ananth said: (Jun 5, 2018) 1. Mother. 2. Her son name is suresh. 3. His son is in the pic. He is the son of the only son of my mother. The only son of my mother. = mother has one son- suresh says my mother so suresh is the only son of the mother. He is the son of (suresh) the only son of my mother. He is the son of Suresh.

Neeraj Kumar Jha said: (Sep 3, 2018) In above question, the boy is the only son of the son of my mother it means as per second generation the Suresh is the son of his mother which has been clearly mentioned in the question and that boy is the son of Suresh. Therefore Suresh is the father of that boy and his mother is the grandmother of that boy.

Lutuna said: (Sep 17, 2018) Brother is the relationship between the both. Because Suresh showed a boy and tell that he is the son of his mother means son of Suresh's mother that's why they are brothers.

Stephy said: (Dec 12, 2018) I couldn't understand it. Please anyone explain me.

Vaishali said: (Dec 21, 2018) @All. Here the Question is; He is the son of the only son of my mother. Then how the answer be Father? I think the brother is the right answer.

Dithya said: (Dec 21, 2018) As per the question, Suresh is the speaker. He says the only son of my mother. He clearly mentioned that it's his mother and the word only son means one son. So there are no chances of two or more sons. Suresh is the only son of his mother. The boy is the son of the only son of Suresh's mother. Son of Suresh's mother is Suresh. Son of Suresh is the boy. Now, Suresh is the father of the boy.

Javid Ahmad said: (Dec 28, 2018) The only son of Suresh's mother means Suresh himself. Son towards which Suresh points means his own son. Therefore Suresh is father of the one he is pointing towards in photograph.

Sima said: (Jan 14, 2019) According to me, the answer is A.

Hari said: (Jan 30, 2019) D is right. I agree with the given answer.

Bindhu said: (May 23, 2019) As per the statement, Suresh is the father of that boy. The relation between that boy and Suresh (father and son).

Suganyadevi said: (May 25, 2019) I do not understand this. Please, anyone, explain to me.

Sunil Kumar said: (Jul 11, 2019) Clearly explained, The boy is the son of the only son of Suresh's mother. Therefore, Suresh is the father.

Karthik said: (Aug 14, 2019) Not understanding this, please explain me in detail.

Ramamoorthy V said: (Aug 15, 2019) In this type of questions, first, you need to find the word anywhere in the sentence ( is/as/was) and then at the palace of is/as/ was you put one equal symbol(=). Then fix the equal symbol as reference , in right hand side apply the backward approach and un left hand side apply the forward approach. Ex: He = the son of the only son of my mother. Now go to the word my ( here talker is Suresh) I,e. Suresh says my mothers only son.it means Suresh is the son of a mother. Now the obtained one is Suresh then go to next term of the son here final obtained word is a son so equate this; He= son, here Suresh is the talker, so Suresh is the father of a son (he).

Prasant Sahoo said: (Oct 12, 2019) I can't understand Please explain clearly.

Yashwant P said: (Dec 23, 2019) Mother had only son (Suresh) now Suresh is pointing towards his son's photograph and exclaiming with a statement ---> the boy is the son of the only son (Suresh) of my mother in other words mother is the parent of only son (Suresh) who has a son/boy in the photograph.

Dipanshu Raj said: (Mar 4, 2020) Clearly I understand.

Dipanshu Raj said: (Mar 4, 2020) Please explain again because clearly, I didn't understand.

Vaishnavi said: (Jun 27, 2020) If it is the only son of Suresh's mother. So, it is Suresh Himself, not his father.

Darshan said: (Aug 12, 2020) I think Brother is the correct answer.

Visishta said: (Oct 14, 2020) I think That photograph is himself.

Sipu said: (Oct 16, 2020) Agree, Father is the right answer.

Anomie said: (Oct 17, 2020) The right answer is Father as the only son of her mother means he himself and the boy is his son so the Suresh is the father of that answer.

Anomee said: (Oct 21, 2020) The answer is father as the only son of my mother that the only son is he himself and his son will be the only son of the son of my mother. So Suresh is the father of that boy. So answer is Option D.

Shubhanshi said: (Jan 27, 2021) How? I did not understand.

Navas said: (Feb 25, 2021) The right answer is a Brother.

Nneka Vivian said: (Apr 15, 2021) No, it's not the father. It should be an uncle. Because the question is not mentioned about the gender of Suresh. And it never told us if he was the only son or not. So how can we just assume like that?

R.Chonngayung said: (Jun 3, 2021) Yes @Nneka Vivian. I agree, There is no clear mention about the gender of Suresh. In question, it is only mentioned that the boy in the picture is the only son of Suresh's mother. But by only son, it does not mean the only child. Hence, Suresh may be a girl also. Hence we can't assume it. Therefore in my opinion the question is incomplete or there should be more options in the answer section.

Virgo said: (Jun 12, 2021) Thanks all for explaining the answer.

Amrik Tufan said: (Jul 25, 2021) I don't get it, please help me to get it.
