Because grandfather means he can be father of Anjali's mother n not necessarily of father's father. If it was said that "her father is only child " then 100% he is her brother.

Here it is clearly mentioned "only son". There is a chance that grand father may have daughters and anjali is the daughter of them. (a possibility). So I think the answer would be 'D'.

Only son and only child are different things. Only son can also mean he has 1 son and 1 or more daughters.
So, grandfather's only son could be PAPA or Uncle.

@Harshu, me too think the same. Grandfather doesn't necessarily mean dad's dad. It could be mom's dad too. Me too think the answer could be D.
