I do not agree with the answer since in the question it is clearly mentioned as Only Son and NOT Only Child. Hence, the answer should be D. If it had mentioned as Only Child then the answer could have been "Brother".

It is not mentioned whether Lata's grandfather is paternal or maternal grandfather. Hence, the person is either Lata's brother (in case of paternal grandfather) or cousin (in case of maternal grandfather).

The questing is not clear. The answer could either be Brother or Cousin. The question say the father has only son, it does not mean he does not have daughter.

They are not mentioned that grandfather having daughter. This is not correct statement. This answer is only father. Not brother.

Does only son mean that he (the father or mother) has ONLY one son or that he has only ONE son. You see the problem here?
The former means that the grandfather had to be the father of Lata for which the answer given is right. Brother.
But the latter could mean that the grandfather had one son and x no.of daughters, one being Lata's mother. And the son of Lata's Mother's Brother would be her cousin. And hence the question is either incorrect or the answer is option D.
